Final Few Weeks of Data Collection for the 2026 BFMV Physician Call Coverage Burden and Compensation Survey

The 2026 BFMV Call Coverage survey is open for data collection through June 12. If you are a physician or practice administrator who would like to be included in this useful study, please submit information regarding your unrestricted call coverage arrangement here. Completing the survey takes less than 5 minutes, and contributing physicians receive complimentary 1-year subscription access to the survey results.

In addition to compensation information, including hourly and daily rates, the BFMV survey includes unique on-call burden and compensation information, much of which is unavailable from other survey resources, including the following:

  

• Weekend/holiday differentials

• Days on-call per month

• Average phone call volume per 24-hour shift

• Required in-person response time

• Average in-person visits per shift

• Time spent on telemedicine while on call
